Burnham-On-Sea jet skier clinches championship victory

-

Burnham-On-Sea jet skier Nick Edrich is celebrating this week after becoming British jet ski stock novice champion.

Nick clinched the title after competing in the final round of the jet ski championships at Milton Keynes last weekend.

Riding his Hydrospace S4, he had a superb weekend, taking two wins in novice ski stock and also gaining his first win and a second place in the expert ski classes, which was enough to make him British ski stock novice Champion and runner-up in expert ski stock.

“I just went for it and decided I would win the title in style or not at all. The ski was great and I made no errors which is essential if you want to win in expert ski,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Nick took the lead from the start but was pushed all the way by the eventual expert champion in the first race.

Nick added: “It is a dream come true for me to become British number one. I just hope I have the funds to try and compete next year in the top class, Ski GP.”

“These skis are tuned to do more than 70 mph whereas mine is doing about 58mph so it’s a big jump up in power and fitness that is required.”

“I can’t thank my sponsors enough for the help they have given me – BHB Sport, AK Autos, Fusion Leisure and The Cladding Centre.”

Nick is looking for sponsors for next year, now he has proved his capabilities on the circuit.
