Boy, 4, hurt after being struck by car in Burnham-On-Sea

A four-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being knocked down in Burnham-On-Sea this afternoon (Wednesday, March 16th).

Police and ambulance crews were called to the junction of Oxford Street and Ashley Avenue at 3.20pm, as pictured here, after the youngster was struck by a passing vehicle near St Joseph's School as children left for the day.

An ambulance spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The boy was taken to Weston General Hospital with a minor injury after being involved in an accident with a vehicle."

Oxford Street was temporarily closed while emergency services were at the scene and police diverted traffic around the area.
