Burnham-On-Sea police to tackle illegal town centre parking

-

Residents in Burnham-On-Sea have this week picked illegal town centre parking and speeding as the top two priorities for police in the town over the next three months.

Residents attended the latest community police meeting, held last night (Thursday, November 3rd) in the Town Council Chambers, where they were given the chance to influence what issues are tackled in the town.

Residents voted on which issues should be adressed as the top priorities. These included dog fouling, speeding, drug dealing, parking issues, littering and anti-social behaviour.

A vote was taken when speeding along Stoddens Road and The Esplanade was chosen as the top priority, closely followed by illegal parking in Burnham town centre.

It was noted that a number of parking tickets have been handed out to illegally parked motorists in recent weeks and that this would now be stepped up.

During the meeting, updates were also given on tackling the issues set at the previous meeting earlier in the year.
