Free computing workshops on offer this autumn in Highbridgel

Sedgemoor Community Partnership is to launch a new public internet facility at the Community Café in Highbridge’s Morland Hall this autumn and to mark this it is holding a series of free workshops from September.

The first of the courses, called ‘Get Online – Surfing the Internet’, will be held on Wednesday 7th September from 9.30am – 12.30pm. A second course called ‘Using Email’ will be held on the same day from 1pm – 3pm.

Digital photography will be the subject of a follow-up course on Wednesday 21st September from 9.30am – 12.30pm. And ‘Skype and other free online resources’ will be the topic of a session from 1pm – 3pm on September 21st.

eBay will be in focus on Wednesday 5th October from 9.30am – 12.30pm, and ICT Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions will be the topic from 1pm – 3pm.

The training will be led by Will Bix, known locally as the studio manager from The
Engine Room community media centre in Bridgwater High Street.

Will is very knowledgeable about PCs and Macs and is very experienced at helping beginners get going online. The free workshops are being held primarily for over-50s.
