The pond at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens was the centre of attention during an unusual community event on Thursday (June 9th).

Over 20 people attended a 2-3 hour training session on pond management, run by Iain Turner from The Cannington Centre at Bridgwater College.

Held in partnership with Sedgemoor District Council, the session is one of several community events being held at the gardens during its major redevelopment.

The session provided advice about the types of fish and plantlife that can live in ponds, as well as providing an update on the current work to modernise it.

The Marine Cove project is being part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which last year awarded £344,200 to enable it to go ahead.
