Burnham-On-Sea’s Pier Tavern has raised hundreds of pounds by holding a series of pub quizzes in aid of Help For Heroes.

Charity fundraiser John Shaw joined forces with pub landlord Martin Taylor and quiz masters James Crenol and Becky Crump to raise a total of £309.

John, who lives in Weston, is a national fundraiser for the charity and has reached a staggering £63,000 by taking part in a wide range of events across the region.

Martin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were delighted to raise such a good sum for a very worthwhile national charity by holding three quiz nights.”

Any local charitable causes and groups who want to hold a quiz night at the pub, which is based in Burnham’s Pier Street, can call him on 07798 941077.
