chefs compete in the kitchen at Burnham-On-Sea competition
young chefs from Highbridge's King Alfred School have been putting
their catering skills to the test by competing in the first round
of the annual Rotary Young Chef Competition.
The youngsters, from Years 9 and 10, were required to design,
prepare, cook and present a two-course meal consisting of a main
course and a dessert with a healthy eating theme.
years chefs were Joshua Pring, Melissa Walter, Megan Manley,
Zoe Ashdown, Ryan Hillier and Stephanie Jeffries.
judges - Andrew Rich and Judy Schroeder - both commented on the
high quality of the food presented and said their marking had
been very close.
eventual winner was Joshua Pring with Melissa Walter runner-up
and Megan Manley in third place.
event was organised by Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club, which also
provided the prizes.

entries and the judges were also thanked for giving up their time.
next round of the competition will also be taking place in King
Alfred School in February 2012.
