A Royal wedding themed shop window competition is being held in Burnham-On-Sea this month.
25 shops and businesses will be hiding wedding-themed ‘odd items’ in their windows, and shoppers will have the challenge of finding them to be in with a chance of winning £100.
The annual ‘Spot the Odd Item in the Shop Window Competition’, run by Burnham’s Chamber of Trade, has a Royal theme this year to tie in with the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Chamber of Trade Chairman Rhonda Mills said: “The competition aims to raise awareness of the wide range of shops we have on offer in Burnham Town Centre, as well as giving families and shoppers some free entertainment over the holiday period.”
The contest will be held between Saturday April 16th and Friday April 29th. The ‘odd items’ will be either be wedding-related, or where the shop window already has a wedding theme, the item will not normally be sold by the shop.
One of the 25 items will be hidden somewhere on the front page of Burnham-On-Sea.com!
Entrants will be encouraged to find as many of the items as possible to be in with a chance of scooping the £100 top prize. Runners-up prizes will also be given by Burnham’s Sea Breeze Art Gallery, Mister Fudge, Home Hardware and Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Entry forms are available at participating shops and, from this Thursday (April 14th), at Burnham’s new Tourist Information Centre. It is also available here.
The names of the winners will be announced during the Burnham Mayor’s Royal Wedding street party outside the Victoria Hotel at 4.30pm on Saturday April 30th. Details will also be here on Burnham-On-Sea.com.
