Naked skinny dipper rescued on Brean beach by Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards

-

A skinny dipper had to be rescued from Brean beach early this morning (Tuesday, July 5th) after getting stuck on the mudflats.

The 23 year-old man, who was not wearing any clothes, was pulled to safety by Coastguards at 4am after he became stuck in mud 200 yards from the shore.

Burnham Coastguard Station Officer Steve Bird told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The man was extremely cold and had suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in trying to free himself.”

“Four members of the Coastguard team freed him from the mud and walked him back to safety where Weston Coastguards, who were backing us up, took him to a waiting ambulance.”

The alarm had been raised by a woman, also in her 20s, who was also covered in mud but otherwise safe and well.
