Burnham St John Ambulance cadet presented with top award

Highbridge and Burnham St John Ambulance Cadet Holly Mackman has been presented with the highest award a cadet can achieve.

During the group's annual presentation evening, held last week at the group's HQ in Bank Street, Highbridge, she was handed a much-deserved Grand Prior Award.

The proud youngster has passed assessments in 24 different subjects, in addition to keeping her first aid skills up-to-date.

Holly, pictured right, has also recently been appointed the Deputy Cadet of the Year for Somerset during 2011.

During the annual enrolment and presentation evening, trophies were also presented to Thomas Fincham (Boy Cadet of the Year), Courtney Parsons (attendance), Rhiannon Parsons (most duty hours, also awarded badge for 1,000 hours community service), Hannah Dowell (sharing outstanding achievement with Lucy and Rhiannon), Lucy Westlake (Girl Cadet of the Year), Paris Hazelton-Cavill (smartest uniform) and Katie Watts (Most Promising Newcomer).

Newcomers Gabriel Whyte, Charlotte Simmonds, Chelsea Reeves, Paris Reeves, Jodie Inman and Juliette Bissell (pictured bottom of page) were also enrolled.
