Burnham-On-Sea to mark Royal wedding with High Street party

-

A big street party is set to be held in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on the day of this Spring’s Royal wedding.

The town’s Hillview Carnival Club is organising the fundraising party in the High Street on Friday April 29th, which will be an official Bank Holiday to mark the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We’ve intending to bring forward our usual fundraising street party, which is held outside the Somerset and Dorset pub, to make it coincide with the big wedding.”

“We’re planning to have stalls set up plus live music and other entertainment to make it a super day to remember.”

He added that the plans are already well advanced, with paperwork for the street closure having been sent off and the entertainment schedule currently being drawn up.

Burnham-On-Sea.com will have further details on this – and other local street parties – being planned for the day of the wedding over the next few weeks.
