Rehearsals underway for Berrow drama group’s comedy production

-

Final rehearsals are underway at a Berrow drama group as it prepares for the curtain to rise on its production of ‘Fringe Benefits’, a comedy and farce by Peter Yeldham and Donald Churchill.

Members of Stage 2 Drama have spent a long year without a production whilst their rehearsal and performing venue, Berrow Village hall, was closed for extensive rebuilding and refurbishment.

Now that the new facilities are re-opening for business, Stage 2 is hard at work rehearsing and preparing for the play.

After the lack of a production last year, director Maria Redman says she is determined to give the audience a real treat.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This play has a particularly hilarious script and also packs in loads of physical comedy. In fact, just reading the script has had the actors in stitches!”

Ticket holders are assured of a great evening of entertainment in the comfortable surroundings of Berrow Village Hall.

Fringe Benefits will be performed on 31st March and 1st – 2nd April. Tickets, costing £6, can be ordered by calling Doreen Richards on 01278 783249.

A licenced bar will also be available so the audience can enjoy a glass of wine, beer or soft drink during the show and at the interval.

The group is also giving ticket holders a chance to win a bottle of fine champagne by writing their name, email and telephone number on the back of their ticket and handing it in when they come to the production. The tickets will all be entered into a draw for a chance to win the bubbly.
