Burnham-On-Sea
tap dancers in bid to beat world record!

A group of Burnham-On-Sea dancers took part in an attempt
to break a world record on Sunday (October 16th) when they joined
a nationwide tap dancing event.
A total of 19 dancers, aged from seven to over 60, participated
in the fundraising Tapathon at DanceFit's studios in Love Lane,
Burnham.
"We had a great turnout. As soon as we received a text message
from the organisers at 12.30pm we performed our dance routine
accompanied by James Brown's 'I Feel Good' at the same time as
dancers across the country," Victoria Roberts from DanceFit
told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"Everyone had a fun time and we expect to have raised £250
for Children In Need from today's event."
The group is having to wait whether the events being held across
the UK - and overseen by the nationwide organisers The Performers
Project - have been successful in smashing the previous record
for the most people tap dancing at the same time. Various checks
are underway to assess the numbers taking part.
