Video: Sir Terry Pratchett switches on Burnham-On-Sea Xmas lights

Huge crowds turned out to watch leading author Sir Terry Pratchett switch on Burnham-On-Sea's Christmas lights on Saturday (November 26th).

Sir Terry and the Mayor, Cllr Michael Clarke, hit a plunger at 4.45pm to light up the town for the festive season.

An afternoon of festive entertainment took place outside the Victoria Hotel in Victoria Street featuring schoolchildren from St Andrew's School and St Joseph's School performing Christmas songs, followed by the Mudlarks Community Choir and local rock group Vermin.

Sir Terry - who was joined on stage by Burnham's Mayor, the town's Carnival Queen and Princesses - told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It's been a great honour to switch on the lights and I thank everyone for the warm welcome."
