meeting on Burnham-On-Sea tourist centre plans tonight
who want to help run Burnham-On-Sea's tourist information centre
when it comes under the management of a new
charitable group later
this Spring are being invited to an open meeting in the town this
evening (Thursday, February 10th).
The newly-formed group BIARS (Burnham Information
And Rescue Support) is
holding the event for local people to register their interest
in helping the seafront centre.
The public meeting will be held at 7pm in the
Town Council Chambers in Jaycroft Road and all potential volunteers
are being encouraged to attend.
Cllr Neville Jones, Chairman of BIARS, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We look forward to meeting the volunteers who want to be
a part of the Tourist Information Centre's exciting future."
The seafront centre was plunged into jeopardy in 2009
when the cash-strapped district council announced
it could no longer afford to run it, but BIARS stepped forward
to save it and now intends to turn the centre's fortunes
around and make it profitable again.
