Tourism businesses in Burnham-On-Sea enjoyed a bumper weekend of trade as warm weather attracted crowds of visitors.

The seafront and beach were far busier than normal for April as the hot spell drew large numbers on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Pavilion’s Managing Director, Louise Parkin, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been a good start to the season – it’s great to see Burnham so busy when the weather is good.”

Geoff Lewis, who runs the Treasure Chest gift shop on The Esplanade, agreed. “It’s been a very good start to the season. Let’s hope the rest of the spring and summer are just as good.”

And Keith Holman at newly-opened Brit Chips in Adam Street added: “We’ve had an incredibly busy weekened and not stopped.”
