Over 120 classic cars set to visit Burnham seafront this evening

Dozens of classic cars will arrive on Burnham-On-Sea's seafront this evening (Saturday, June 4th) for the 18th annual Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Road Run.

The popular event will show off a range of vintage vehicles, from cars and military vehicles, to emergency service vehicles and motorbikes.

The idea for the run was first born 19 years ago, when Den Stone, a lorry enthusiast from Glastonbury, wondered what to do with his vintage vehicles.

The cars will be on show until around 7pm when the Mayor of Burnham, Cllr Michael Clarke, will present awards to the best entries. Funds raised by the run will be donated to the Mendip Multiple Sclerosis Society.

"We are really looking forward to the event and hope that as many people as possible will be around to look at the cars and help us to raise money for this good cause," organiser Daphne Stone told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
