Burnham-On-Sea police issue warning after spate of vandalism

-

Burnham-On-Sea police have this week issued a warning to vandals who have causing trouble in the town.

It follows a spate of vandalism incidents in recent weeks – as reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com – when walls, phone boxes, caravans and cars have been damaged.

The past week has been quieter, with only a minor disturbance last Friday when a number of flowers were ruined in Burnham’s Manor Gardens.

However, Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Young people who hang around Bunham must be respectful of the community around them and understand that they risk getting a criminal record if they cause damage.”

“We won’t tolerate vandalism or any of the problems seen in Burnham during several past summers.”

“Parents of youngsters who are causing problems will be shocked when we knock on their door to say their sons or daughters have been taken into custody.”

Anyone with information about recent vandalism in the town should call Burnham Police on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
