Seafront battered as gales whip up storm waves in Burnham-On-Sea

Strong winds created stormy seas in Burnham on Saturday morning (February 5th).

Big waves were sent crashing into the town's sea wall at the height of the morning tide at 8.10am, as pictured here.

Gales with gusts of up to 60mph swept through the Burnham area.

Earlier, the Met Office issued a 'weather advisory' for North Somerset, warning of strong southwesterly winds during the day with gusts as high as 70mph.
