Four nights of theatrical entertainment from the West Huntspill Players began on Wednesday (October 26th).

The group is performing Old Actors Never Die… They Simply Lose The Plot, a farce in two acts by Lynn Brittney in the village’s Balliol Hall.

The comedy is set in the lounge of the Mount Home For Retired Theatricals. When Walter Neville (played by Alan Jarvis) arrives at the home, he is overjoyed to find some of his best friends in residence.

All is well until the serial womaniser husband of three of the residents goes missing, apparently on the run from Russian gangsters! The ladies decide that he must be rescued.

The show is being performed each night at 7.45pm this week, finishing on Saturday evening (October 29th). Tickets, costing £6 each, are available from the Box Office on 01278 785651.

The cast of 11 includes Amber McHale, Alan Jarvis, Di Batt, Louvaine Grriffiths, Janet Holderness, June Jenkins, Joe Tohill, David Jenkins, Greg Fear, Rob Blackmore and Christine Edwards.

Directed by Kathie Dowson, the show’s back-stage production team includes David Holley, Fred Jekins, Geoff Saywell, Sue Bullock, Colin Parish, Maggie Roberts, Jill Wooley, Jan Holton, Mavourneen Orchard, Alisatair Murray, Nigel Orchard, Mary Parish, Andrea Moore, Brendan Nicholas and June Adamson.
