Motorist suffers chest injury in crash on A38 in Rooksbridge

A motorist was taken to hospital with a chest injury following a two-vehicle crash on the A38 at Rooksbridge, near Burnham-On-Sea, on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly before 9am after the collision in the centre of the village.

South Western Ambulance Service spokesman Dave Rogers told "Ambulance crews were called at 8.52am to a collision on a blind bend in Rooksbridge."

"One man with a chest injury was taken to Weston General Hospital and arrived at 9.48am."

He added that a rapid response ambulance vehicle and two other ambulance crews attended alongside fire crews and police, who diverted traffic around the scene.
