Two motorists hurt after accident shuts Burnham-On-Sea
road

Two
motorists were rushed to hospital following an accident
which closed a busy road into Burnham-On-Sea for over three hours on Sunday
(June 17th).
Police
closed Queen's Drive, as pictured, after the collision between
a motorbike and a car on the railway bridge. One person was flown by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol and a second person was taken by road to Weston General Hospital.
The crash
caused long delays for motorists travelling in and out of the
town to the M5 motorway.
A
police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Officers were
called to a collision involving a motorbike and a car at around
1.45pm."
"The
air ambulance was also called and an injured person was flown
to hospital with suspected serious injuries."
The
air ambulance landed on the road to take the casualty onboard
for the flight to Frenchay, as pictured.
The
police spokesman added that an investigation into the collision
had begun by traffic police officers.
Anyone
