Ben thanks air ambulance that rescued him by holding sponsored ride

-

A youngster who was air-lifted to hospital after being kicked in the head by a horse has this week raised hundreds of pounds for the air ambulance that helped him.

Luke Ollis and his brother Ben, pictured, completed a sponsored cycle ride between Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront and Wells.

“We hope to have raised over £700 for the Devon and Somerset Air Ambulance,” Luke told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We were so grateful to the air ambulance for flying Ben to the Royal United Hospital in Bath after his accident several years ago that we wanted to raise some money for them. We’ve received lots of help from friends and family and thanks go to everyone who helped us.”

Ben was flown to hospital after being kicked by the horse. He drifted in and out of consciousness on the way to hospital and needed fast treatment. He went on to make a full recovery.
