Alistair
wins theatre award 17 years after he was first nominated for it

A
West Huntspill actor is celebrating this week after winning a
top theatrical award... 17 years after he was first nominated
for it.
Alistair
Murray, a member of the West Huntspill Players, has been named
Best Supporting Actor at the 2012 Rose Bowl Awards, which shine
the spotlight on the region's best theatrical talent.
He
was
nominated for his role as Reverend Arthur Humphries in the farce
See How They Run, which was performed earlier this year,
as pictured below.
Alistair
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I was nominated for the identical
award 17 years ago when I played the same part in our 1995 performance
of See How They Run, but I didn't win."
"It's
therefore extra sweet to have won now so many years later,"
he said.
"I've
never won an award like this before so am actually quite humbled
and really chuffed - it's a great honour."
The
Rose Bowl Awards ceremony was held at the Winter Gardens in Weston
where the winners were announced.
West
Huntspill Players' next production is called Improbable Fiction
and is to be staged from November 21st to 24th. This is a
sharp comedy and affectionate satire with many laughs, twists
and turns that is sure to be popular with audiences. Tickets are
available by calling Mary Parish on 01278 785651.
