Somerset Wildlife Trust is holding a family wildlife day at Highbridge’s Apex Park today (Sunday, July 15th).

The event, taking place from 1.30pm-4.00pm, will provide an afternoon of wildlife-themed fun for all ages.

Guided walks along the lakes and through the wildflower meadows will be held plus bug searches in the hedgerows and grassland.

Visitors will also be able to learn about the Somerset Barn Owl Project and meet a live owl who will be on display during the afternoon.

Chris Sperring MBE, Conservation Officer for the Hawk and Owl Trust, and Vice President of Somerset Wildlife Trust, will be at the event with Beau the Barn Owl.

The group will also be displaying an exhibition of colourful photographs featuring local Somerset wildlife.

The event requires bookings in advance via organiser Ged Keele here and a small fee of £2 per family will be made on the day.
