Overnight fire in Highbridge being treated as arson by police

Police are treating a large fire in Highbridge during the early hours of Friday morning (September 21st) as arson.

Fire crews were called to Parsons Road at 2.17am after reports that several sheds were alight.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “One fire appliance from Burnham was mobilised to a report of a fire at the above location.”

“On arrival, crews requested a further appliance due to a large fire at the rear of domestic properties involving several sheds and fencing.”

“Two sheds, one a brick bin store, and 20 metres of fencing were destroyed. Two dwellings were externally damaged by heat and an adjoining garage block was also damaged.”

Police were also called to the scene as the incident is being treated as suspected arson.
