Several volunteer crewmembers at Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB have been presented with Jubilee medals this week in recognition of their work.

Burnham and Highbridge Deputy Mayor Cllr Martin Cox handed over the medals to Roger Flower, Dave Bailey, Clive Weal and Andy Croker outside the seafront hovercraft station to mark the 60th anniversary of the monarch’s reign.

They are being presented to front-line members of emergency services across the UK who have served for a minimum of five years.

Martin said: “These medals are a superb recognition of the voluntary work that BARB’s crewmembers do.”
