Burnham-based western re-enactment club raises £4,000 for charity

-

A Burnham-On-Sea western re-enactment club has this week presented cheques worth £4,000 to two charities.

Members of the Boots and Saddles Western Re-enactment and Living History Club handed over £1,000 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and £3,000 to Help For Heroes.

The money was raised by the club putting on their wild west shows at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll last year.

The club – which was formed by Dave Rouse only two years ago – has raised £8,000 for charity during that time.

The first of this year’s wild west shows will be held on May 5th-7th at Sanders Garden World. A small wild west town and living history camp will be set up. Visitors will be free to roam around, talk to the cowboys, pioneers, mountain men and native american indians and also watch ‘gun fights’ and displays. Entry will cost £1 per adult and 50p for under 16s.
