Three arrests after two people are assaulted in the centre of Brean

-

Three people have been arrested after a violent incident in which two people were assaulted in the centre of Brean during the early hours of Sunday (September 16th).

Police sealed off an area outside the McColl’s shop, as pictured here, during Sunday as their investigations into the 2.30am incident got underway.

Police spokeswoman Cath Foster told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A lady in her 40s was punched and was left unconscious with a fractured jaw while a man was also injured after being punched in the face.”

She added that two men in their 20s and a woman in her 50s were arrested by police and have been bailed until the end of October.

Specialist scenes-of-crime officers visited the car park on Sunday to examine blood found at the scene that may help the investigation, however police said neither of those injured is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
