Second
Burnham-On-Sea cafe hit by burglars as police issue appeal
Police
have appealed for witnesses after a late night break-in at a Burnham-On-Sea
cafe - the second in the town in the space of a month.
Burglars
forced their way into Tickle Your Taste Buds on the town's High
Street last Saturday before searching the premises for cash.
The
incident comes just a month after a break-in at the Bay View Cafe
on Burnham seafront, first reported here,
when money was stolen.
Len
Cameron, owner of Tickle Your Taste Buds, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"The burglars appear to have used a crow bar to force open
our door and gain entry to the premises and search the shop for
cash."
"They
opened the till, but because we never leave money in the shop
overnight they didn't find any cash at all."
He
added: "It was a huge shock to come here on Sunday morning
and find the door wide open."
Burnham
Police have not ruled out a link between the two incidents and
have appealed to passers-by who saw anyone acting suspiciously
in the area of Tickle Your Taste Buds overnight from October 13th-14th
to contact them via their non-emergency number 101 or through
Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
