Contest to find new Burnham and Highbridge Carnival Queen extended

Organisers
of the annual competition to appoint this year's Highbridge and
Burnham-On-Sea Carnival Queen and Princesses have extended the
entry period for the contest following a low number of entries.
Burnham-On-Sea
Lions Club's search for this year's Carnival Queen and Princesses
has been extended until Sunday July 15th.
The competition is open to girls aged 16 and over for the position
of queen and girls aged 7-15 for the princesses.
All
contestants must live within six miles of Highbridge or Burnham
and be available on the evening of this year's Carnival, Monday
12th November.
One
of the organisers of the competition, Andrew Bryant, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We would like a few more entrants to the competition so
have extended the entry period to July 15th and look forward to
receiving more entries over the coming days. We had a total of
11 by last Saturday."
The Carnival Queen and Princess Selection Evening will be held
on Saturday 21st July starting at 6.45pm with judging at 7.15pm
at Burnham's Princess Theatre And Arts Centre. There will also
be an interlude with dancing from Highbridge's Lucy Gunter Dance
Centre. Admission will be £4 for adults and £2 for
under 16s on the door. Tickets are available from the box office
at the Princess.
