Over 180 people filled St John’s Church in Highbridge on Thursday night (December 13th) for Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society’s annual Christmas concert.

The traditional event featured a programme of seasonal music that quickly put the audience in a festive mood.

“We were delighted to have such a good turnout,” said Musical Director Ray Willis, pictured right with Rev Sharon Crossman.

“We had such a large audience that we were scrambling around to find extra seats,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

As well as singing the Christmas Oratorio, the society’s singers sang a variety of traditional Christmas songs and carols with plenty of audience participation throughout the evening.

The children from St Andrew’s School also gave a superb performance of several popular festive songs.

Hundreds of pounds is also expected to have been collected for Children’s Hospice South West during a collection at the end of the evening.
