Burnham's
Marine Cove group receives Britain In Bloom award
Burnham-On-Sea's
Friends of Marine Cove have celebrating after winning a top accolade
at the Britain In Bloom awards.
The
seafront gardens were judged to be "outstanding" for
a second year running and the group received a Neighbourhood Award
for their work.
The Cove was also given a Green Flag award earlier in the year.
The award was presented by Ann Swithenbank and collected by Friends
Treasurer Phoebe Harling, Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Ken Smout
and Community Gardener Jacqui Strong, as pictured.
"We really pleased to have received the level of outstanding
for a second year - the volunteers do so much in the garden and
have been so supportive during the last year it makes it
all worthwhile," Jaqui told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering in the garden can contact
Mrs Strong for details on 01278 436420.
