A man was taken by air ambulance to Weston General Hospital after his car, towing a caravan, crashed into a wall in Barton Road at 9.30am.

Police spokeswoman Claire Stanley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to a serious road traffic collision in Barton Road, Berrow at around 9.30 this morning.”

She added: “A man driving a car towing a caravan was in collision with a wall.”

“The man was taken to Weston General Hospital and is in a life threatening condition.”

“The road re-opened at 12.25pm following investigations.”

It is believed the man may have suffered a heart attack shortly before the accident.
