Burnham-On-Sea
cricketers pick up tips from England star
Two
cricketers from Burnham-On-Sea took part in a special training
session with England and Somerset star Marcus Trescothick this
week.
Captain
of Burnham-On-Sea Cricket club, Pete Harris and young opening
bowler Mike Green took part in a session called 'How to bat like
a T20 Star' with Marcus and Somerset Coach Pete Sanderson.
Pete's
wife, Hannah, had entered him into a competition to win the opportunity
along with some employees of Friends Life.
The
session focussed on how Marcus approaches a T20 innings and then
allowed the participants to face the bowling machines themselves.
"At
the end, Marcus also allowed the participants to bowl at him.
The session obviously put Marcus in good form as over the next
two days he achieved the 50th century of his career!" Pete
told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"Marcus
was also generous enough to sign a Burnham Cricket Club shirt
which will be raffled at a future social function. The session
proved a real insight into the preparation and mindset of an international
cricketer before a big competition."
