Burnham-On-Sea ladies cycling 350km across India for charity

-

Eight Burnham-On-Sea ladies have travelled to India this week to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime fundraising cycle ride across the country.

Pauline West, Caroline Heyes, Carol Keen, Jane Lewis, Trish Walker, Alison Harding, Mandy Gaylard and Jackie Wheelaghan hope to raise thousands of pounds towards the fight against cancer.

“We are raising money for breast, cervical and ovarian cancers and the trip has been organised by ‘Women v Cancer’,” Mandy told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

They are among a group of approximately 100 women who are cycling a total of 350km across the country.

“We have been fundraising for over a year and the start of the challenge was to each raise £2,800 which we have done, plus more! We have all been hard in training, cycling some 100 miles a week,” added Mandy.

“We wish to thank all those who have donated and those who have supported the trip and will provide updates on our progress.”
