Pensioners and artists prepare for Highbridge sea-themed art festival
Residents
at nursing homes in Burnham-On-Sea and Brent Knoll have been working
with local artists this week to make sea creatures for an arts
festival taking place on Saturday (July 14th).
Residents
of Holywell Nursing Home in Brent Knoll and Burnham's Beaufort
House have been showing their artistic expertise for the Highbridge
and Burnham Artists Arts Festival, 'Denizens of the Deep', which
takes place on Saturday 14th July from 10am to 4pm in Highbridge's
Apex Park.
Highbridge
and Burnham Artists (HaBA) is also working in schools, youth clubs
and in their own studios to make a number of glorious sea creatures
for a sculpture trail at the event.
"The
sculpture trail forms just part of the annual summer festival,
which is now in its fifth year," a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
She
added that visitors will also be able to have a go at making their
own sea creatures in the show's marquee where free art activities
will be available. There will be lots of other art-related activities
and live music.
