A unique annual exhibition showcasing the work of a group of Burnham-On-Sea dolls house makers has opened in the town this week.

A miniature seaside scene has been created by members of Burnham Dolls House Group and is now on show in the window of Material Needs in Burnham High Street until October 7th.

“The display has taken seven of us almost a year to put together and it features a beach and seaside scene,” the group’s Ann Nicholls told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“A lot of work goes into the items and we’re grateful to Material Needs for hosting our display for three weeks.”

The tiny items were built to a one twelfth scale by the club’s members using cardboard, lolly sticks, match sticks and wood veneer that have been decorated using acrylic paint and card stick-ons.

Burnham Dolls House Group has been running for seven years and held its first exhibition in 2006. The club is open to newcomers and meets on the third Wednesday of every month in Highbridge Community Hall from 7-9pm. All are welcome – there is a small charge of £1.50 per meeting.
