Three young members of Burnham-On-sea Dreamscheme have this week been handed gold medals in recognition of their community work.

Thomas Jefferies, Ellis Crennol and Joe Clark received Gold Award certificates, Dreamscheme hoodies and gold badges in recognition of their efforts at the group.

The awards were handed out to celebrate the hard work that the young people have put into their community.

The Gold Award is only presented to those who earn 600 points or more, with ten points being gained per hour of volunteering work.

Burnham-On-Sea Dreamscheme also launched its summer programme on Wednesday (25th July) with a task day in the town’s Marine Cove gardens, sanding down the benches.

The task earned the youngsters points, which can be redeemed against activity days and on Thursday the group spent the day at Greatwood, enjoying the sunshine.

The group is seeking new members. If you are aged between 7 and 14 years of age, get in touch with leader John Alexander via the webpage below for a membership form.

The group is also looking for community projects to undertake throughout the year and volunteers to help oversee the activities.
