Fundraising events to be held in Burnham in memory of Dylan Cecil

-

A series of fundraising events are to be held in memory of Dylan Cecil, the four year-old boy who died in August after falling from Burnham-On-Sea’s jetty.

A fundraising ‘Teeny Tots Seafront Walk’ will be start at 11.30am this Sunday September 23rd when fundraisers will be holding a family walk along the seafront between the jetty and pier in aid of BARB, the Coastguard Association, RNLI and SARbot – the charities involved in the search for Dylan.

Members of Highbridge’s King Alfred Amateur Boxing Club will also be holding a sponsored run on Sunday September 23rd, starting at 10am at Apex Park.

And a day of fundraising music and fun will be held at Burnham’s Dunstan House Inn on Saturday September 29th from 12 noon until 11pm in aid of the four charities. There will be many attractions plus live music from local groups including Vermin, The Ginger Hitlas and The Riverbrew.

Dylan fell into the sea from Burnham jetty on August 19th, sparking a huge search and his body was found four days later. Last week, we reported that an online petition has been launched to encourage Sedgemoor District Council and MP Tessa Munt to introduce new safety changes on the jetty.
