Delicious cream teas and strawberry scones helped raise more than £600 for Highbridge Festival of the Arts at a fundraising tea on Saturday (August 4th).

Dozens of people attended the annual event, which was held in the garden of a supporter in Burnham’s Rectory Road.

A total of £610 was raised for the festival, with some further donations still to come.

Among the visitors were Burnham’s MP Tessa Munt, right, and Burnham’s Mayor, Cllr Ken Smout, who presented the festival team with a certificate for services to the community over the past 65 years.

Festival Chairman Jenny Golding told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The fundraising committee wish to thank all those who in any way contributed to making the day a success, and braved the inclement weather to help the festival continue.”
