photos: Fire crews battle 'deliberate' blaze in Highbridge
These
were the scenes at a property in Highbridge last night (Monday)
when fire crews battled a blaze at a property that is suspected
to have been set deliberately.
Two
fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea rushed to Grange Avenue at 10.16pm,
as pictured, after reports of flames being seen.
Crews
used breathing apparatus and water jets to tackle the blaze, which
was situated in the back garden of a property next to the town's
Recreation Ground.
"A shed and fencing was discovered well alight and additional
crew members were called to the scene," a fire spokesman
told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Flames
leapt into the night sky, as pictured here, illuminating the sky
in the area.
A
garden shed was completely destroyed and there was also damage
to trees and eight metres of fencing.
Passers-by said they also heard paint pots exploding
in the heat.
Crews
managed to prevent the fire spreading to nearby homes. They said
that it was likely that the blaze had been deliberately set.
Burnham
Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information
should contact the Police via the non-emergency police number
101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
