In photos: Burnham-On-Sea fire crews called to car blaze drama

These
were the dramatic scenes in the village of Mark on Friday afternoon
(June 22nd) when firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea were called
to tackle a blazing car.
Firefighters
rushed to the residential area of Churchlands in Mark at 4.35pm
where the car had burst into flames.
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Crews used two
breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire,
which left the car severely damaged."
He
added that the cause is believed to be accidental, although the
source of the fire was not immediately known. No-one was hurt
in the incident.
Eyewitness
Jendy Weekes, who lives in the village, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"A plume of thick black smoke from the car could be seen
from quite some distance around and there was initially a lot
of concern about what was on fire."
"It
was amazing how quickly the flames spread through the vehicle,
creating terrible smelling fumes."
