Several roads in the Burnham-On-Sea area were hit by flooding on Saturday (December 22nd) following heavy rain – with more to come in the run-up to Christmas.

Brent Street in Brent Knoll, pictured above, was only just passable after a foot of water flooded the road.

And Coast Road in Berrow was also left completely covered by water after the rhyne besides the road overflowed. Brean’s Warren Road was also flooded near Brean Down.

Paths around Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor House were also under water, as pictured on the right.

Rail services from Highbridge Railway Station have also been disrupted and travellers are being urged to check the latest times with National Rail Enquiries before setting off.

The Met Office has warned of more heavy rain sweeping through the area this weekend. An amber warning has been issued by forecasters with the prospect of more flooding – read more here.
