Torrential rain caused widespread flooding across the Burnham-On-Sea area today (Wednesday), causing dangerous conditions on local roads.

This was the scene in Brent Knoll today where motorists struggled through up to five inches of water through the village.

Several minor roads in Burnham, including Maple Drive, right, were flooded.

Other roads in Brent Knoll, Brean, Berrow, East Brent and East Huntspill also suffered flooding.

More bad weather is predicted to arrive on Thursday with The Met Office issuing a yellow warning for heavy rain and strong winds.

Flood warnings are also in effect from the Environment Agency for low-lying areas around rivers in the Burnham area.
