Homes
in Edithmead surrounded by flood water after heavy rainfall

Heavy
rain left several homes in Edithmead, on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea,
surrounded by flood water on Tuesday morning (May 1st).
Several
days of rainfall caused flooding for several residents in Stoddens
Lane, as pictured here, with the standing water being up to a
foot deep.
Resident
Grace Toomer, who owns the home pictured above, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"I've lived here since 1973 and have never seen so much water
surrounding the house before."
"This
week's rainfall has been especially heavy and has left water up
to a foot deep in parts. I have been having to pull on my wellingtons
to go out, but am just relieved it hasn't come inside. I am continuing
to keep a close eye on the weather."
The
Met Office says Wednesday (May 2nd) should be dry and sunny in
the Burnham area, while outbreaks of rain will return on Thursday,
possibly heavy at times.
