Man arrested after police foot chase through Highbridge town centre

A man has been arrested by police in Highbridge following a foot chase through the town centre.

Officers were called to Grange Avenue at around 7pm on Friday evening (April 20th), as pictured here.

Sgt Ian Kennett from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The man ran off when approached by several police officers on patrol who became suspicious about his movements."

"They found he had breached his bail conditions by going near a property in the town."

The foot chase took police along Church Street and into Grange Avenue, where officers searched behind fences and in gardens before finding the man a short time later.

Sgt Kennett added: "Officers surrounded the area and the man was found hiding in a garage and arrested."
