Dog
foulers on Burnham-On-Sea beach and Apex Park handed fines
Two
dog owners in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have been issued with
fixed penalty notices and fined after allowing their pets to foul
public places.
The
animals were spotted being walked in Apex
Park, Highbridge and on Burnham-On-Sea Beach over the last fortnight.
"The
enforcement action emphasises Sedgemoor District Council's commitment
for dealing with this type of anti-social behaviour and ensuring
that those responsible are appropriately dealt with," council
spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Fixed
Penalty Notice charges see fines of £50 for payment within
a week or £75 within two weeks.
Failure
to pay instigates court proceedings where a much larger fine can
be awarded.
Residents
who are concerned about dog fouling issue in the Burnham or Highbridge
area should contact Sedgemoor's Dog Warden on 0845 408 2540 for
the matter to be investigated further.
