Police are investigating a fire in which this car and several garages were badly damaged in Highbridge early on Saturday morning (November 24th).

Two fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea fire station were called at 12.51am to the blaze near Burnham Road in Highbridge.

“Crews found one garage was well alight in a row of approximately 10 others,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“A car within the garage was on fire and we tackled it with compressed air foam and a hose reel jet.”

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus removed the car from the garage using a winch, but the car was completely destroyed.

Burnham Police have appealed for anyone with information about how the blaze started to contact them on the non-emergency police number 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
