Burnham-On-Sea's Mayor welcomes visitors from twin German town

A group of Germans from Burnham-On-Sea's twin town of Fritzlar have visited the area this week.

The group of 30 people arrived on Saturday, and were treated to a civic reception by Burnham's Mayor, Cllr Ken Smout, in the Town Council Chambers in Jaycroft Road.

He told "It was great to see group being treated like returning family members by their Burnham host families - they were given a very warm welcome."

The group makes exchange visits to the town on a regular basis and strong friendships have been developed with the host families over many years.
